NARA’S October 20 BRIDG Presentation and White Paper Now Available
The National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) held its Bi-monthly Records and Information Discussion Group (BRIDG) meeting on Tuesday, October 20, 2020, at 10:00 AM ET.
You can now view the presentation from the meeting to learn the latest on records management and M-19 compliance. Additionally, you can access NARA’s latest white paper, Cognitive Technologies: Records Management Implications for Internet of Things, Robotic Process Automation, Machine Learning, and Artificial Intelligence. The paper provides a basic description of each of these technologies, examples of their various applications and enabling factors supporting the technologies. It also describes the implications for society and culture by focusing on bias and ethics within the field of artificial intelligence. As NARA researched these technologies, the agency also considered the records management implications. The white paper contains NARA’s analysis of cognitive technologies’ potential impact on records and data management; policies and standards; and records creation, appraisal, scheduling and transfer.
